Uttar Pradesh is India’s fourth largest and most populous state.Uttar Pradesh has a long and fascinating history. It was known as Brahmarshi Desha or Madhya Desha in the later Vedic Age. Many renowned Vedic sages flourished in this state, including Bhardwaja, Gautam, Yagyavalkaya, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, and Valmiki. Several Aryan religious writings were also written here. Uttar Pradesh appears to have inspired two of India’s great epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
